Apple Cinquains

The students posted a new type of poem that was introduced this past week. Their cinquain poems enabled them to describe apples in various ways. Be sure to go to your child’s blog to see his/her poem and leave feedback while you are there.

Acrostic Name Poems

Check out the student’s first blogging assignment. They each created an acrostic poem using their first names. This was used to introduce everyone and tell more about themselves. To see your child’s blog, click on “student blogs” at the top of this page and then find his/her name to go directly to that blog. If you haven’t already, you need to subscribe to your child’s blog. We will be uploading an apple poem in honor of Johnny Appleseed very soon.

Spring Break Tales

Upon returning from Spring Break, the kids were full of stories to tell. We wanted everyone to hear about their exciting experiences. Please visit your child’s blog and be sure to leave a comment. The stories are great!

Cinquain Poems

The winter season is almost over and no snow in sight. The students created cinquain poems about winter in hopes to see some of the “white stuff” in East Texas.  Please visit your child’s blog to read his/her poem. While you are visiting the blog, leave a comment for your child to read. They love to receive comments on all their creative efforts.

Halloween Alliteration

This six weeks, we have been studying alliteration. Alliteration is the occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of connected words.  The students chose their favorite Halloween character and wrote a sentence using alliteration.  We hope you enjoy the video of all their hard work.  If you would like to see your child’s individual movie, click on his or her name. Be sure to subscribe to his or her blog to receive an email everytime they post.

Welcome to the Writing World of 3rd Grade!

writing

Welcome to Mrs. Odom’s student writing blog, Digital Diaries. My students will be demonstrating their use of technology by posting entries on their own pages during the school year. We want you to stop by frequently and leave comments on these pages. Each time you compliment a child, it motivates that child to write even more.  Be sure to subscribe with your email address to this blog so that you will receive an email each time we have opportunities to post.

CLICK ON THE “STUDENT BLOGS” TAB AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE TO GO YOUR CHILD’S OWN BLOG. BE SURE TO SUBSCRIBE TO THIS PAGE AND YOUR CHILD’S OWN BLOG AS WELL TO GET EMAILS WHEN HE/SHE POSTS.
